No graphics?
« on: 06 Aug 2009, 06:40:43 pm »

Hi there.

New user, I just got setup with SETI and installed your optimized applications using the Unified Installer on the recommendation of a friend.

I have had problems with the "Show Graphics" remaining grayed out though.  Is this just something that is not supported by the optimized apps at the current time, or am I actually doing something wrong?

We optimizers almost always do non-graphics builds first, and only if we get bored (or asked often enough) do graphics builds later. Just now there are plenty of interesting avenues toward further optimizations available, so there aren't any recent graphics builds here and not likely to be any soon.

IOW, you're not doing anything wrong. If you consider the graphics very important you'll probably be happier if you revert to stock. It's a trade off between having more productive host(s) or more detailed display, only you can evaluate the balance.

No I don't consider the graphics important, they are just a fun little frill on the side and I was making sure as a newbie that I wasn't overlooking an easy way to enable them.

Thanks for the information, I do appreciate it.
